The workshop is expected to be a full-day workshop composed of 3 technical sessions and a final panel discussion. The panel comprises selected paper presenters and invited speakers. In the first session, we plan to invite a prestigious keynote speaker that will also take part in the panel discussion. The actual number of sessions (and of papers per sessions) can vary according to the number of received submission and accepted articles. We expect to accept between 9 and 12 papers. The expected number of participants to the workshop is estimated between 15 and 30, including conference attendees interested in the topics of the workshop.

The expected output of the workshop, and in particular of the final panel, will be to state the agenda of future research activities on the improvement of network management through the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning. In addition, the workshop aims to form interest groups on most relevant topics, especially on scalability, interoperability, low-latency, secure, reliable and green solutions for softwarized networks, with the ambition of creating concrete synergies between researchers and industrial bodies from the different research communities addressed by the workshop.

All submitted manuscripts will be peer-reviewed by Program Committee members. The goal is to obtain at least three reviews per paper defining the best papers to be accepted and included into the workshop program. The evaluation process will employ the following criteria:

  • novelty of the proposed problem and/or solution;
  • technical relevance and practicality of presented ideas;
  • relevance of the addressed topic to the scope of the workshop;
  • writing and presentation accuracy and style;
  • familiarity of the reviewer with the topic.

Finally, there will be the announcement of the Best Paper Award, intended to highlight the work that obtained the best balance between the review marks and the quality of presentation
